A whole new world

Wow - Ben and I have been on the go lately! Between Perry GA, Waco Tx, Kinder LA and Jacksonville FL, life has been very hectic. I love our life and love to travel with Ben but home sweet home looks better and better. The one great thing about our life is getting to travel all across the country. There are so many cool places that I have been able to see just because they have a roping there. I know that it is an awesome opportunity and I try and take advantage of it when I can. Now for those of you that have traveled some you know the differences in the different parts of the country. California is always on high speed where the south just basically operates slower.

Well I was able to visit one part of the country that is definetly unique and that is the bayou's of Louisianna. We went to a roping in Kinder, LA a couple weeks ago and I will tell you what that is a completely different world down there. We were able to drive there because it is only about 8 hrs from Stephenville and the closer we got the stranger we got. I really think that is somwhere someone could just dissappear to and never be found again. In some ways it was very erie and in other ways it was pretty cool.

The town that we were at had an Indian casino there and so that is where the roping was held. It was a pretty neat place. They had the usual hotel rooms above the casino but then in the back they had a whole mini town made up of "Chalet's" (actually they were FEMA housing units but Chalet sounds better). Ben and I stayed in our own little Chalet complete with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room. It was a fun experience and I really enjoyed it. Every night we went out to a little restuarant that sold fried shrimp, crawfish and alligator and it was delicious.

The Restuarant - best fried shrimp ever!!

We love our Chalet!! (except for the small water heater!)
